ALBUQUERQUE— National Roofing, one of New Mexico’s oldest and largest commercial roofing companies, recently donated books to Busy Bees Child Care Center.

The company says it completed a tear off and reroof at the Busy Bees Child Care Center, and the children loved seeing the roofers in action throughout the process.

Tracey Gossett focuses on customer relations within National Roofing’s business development team, and said she saw an opportunity to give to the children and teachers at Busy Bees.

“Each time I would visit the project, the manager would mention to me how much the kids loved the roofers and how excited they were,” Tracey said. “They were learning about community helpers in the first week we started so it tied in nicely with their curriculum. That’s when I had the idea to throw them a party and donate books to the center.”

With hard hats, vests, and cookies, Tracey handed out copies NRCA’s book, “Is This a Roof?” to show children that roofing can be a pathway to success. National Roofing’s project manager, Andres Hernandez, and his team made an appearance at the party, letting the children ask questions about roofing.

“I feel very blessed to work for a company that automatically said ‘yes’ when asked if we could donate books and throw a party for the children. National Roofing truly cares for our community and supports our outreach efforts big or small,” Tracey said.

The party was a great success full of smiling faces and gratitude from the Busy Bees.

“National Roofing’s teams went above and beyond for every issue and were a great support system throughout this job,” said Cait Eisenhauer, the Facilities Manager for Busy Bees Child Care Center. “I appreciate everything Tracey and National Roofing’s crew did.”
