ROSEMONT, Ill. — Tecta America has acquired The Melanson Co., Vermont Roofing and A C Hathorne Co.

Terms of the deal were not released.

The Keene, N.H.-based business will operate as The Melanson Co., a Tecta America Co. L.L.C.

Tecta America said in a press release that company officials believe the acquisition gives it additional expertise in roofing that will greatly contribute toward expanding Tecta’s reach in the Northeast region.

“The Melanson Cos. are a perfect fit for us. Tecta and Melanson are well-aligned from a culture, talent and business model perspective, which will support a smooth integration,” said Mark Santacrose, Tecta’s president and CEO.

Rob Therrien will continue to lead the company going forward as president, and Bobby Lefebvre will be the vice president of operations. All of the existing management team and workforce are expected to remain with the company.

“We are elated to have Rob, Bobby and their terrific team join us as we work to realize the benefits of this compelling combination,” said Santacrose.

In operation since 1932, The Melanson Co. has locations in Keene and Bow, N.H. and A C Hathorne (operation since 1875) in Williston, Vt. and Vermont Roofing (operation since 1956) with locations in Rutland and Bennington, Vt.

Less than two weeks ago, Tecta announced that it had acquired St. Louis-based RSS Roofing Services & Solutions, founded in 1895. 

And Tecta America itself was recently acquired by Toronto-based investment firm Altas Partners. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year. Terms were not disclosed.

Tecta America was No. 2 on RC's 2018 Top 100 Roofing Contractors list with reported revenue of $500 million. The company has more than 3,000 employees operating at more than 60 locations in the U.S.
