KENT, Wash. — Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal has promoted one and added two employees to its team based in Kent, Wash.
Jake McMurchie has been named commercial roofing consultant, and Jason Wells has been added to the sales team as a project manager.
McMurchie has worked for the company for four years as an apprentice and foreman. In his new role, he will focus on providing customers with a superior project management leadership and service.
Prior to joining Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal, McMurchie worked several years as a firefighter. He noted that “my leadership skills I developed as a fire fighter really helped me strive to be successful when managing projects and my crew. I strive to provide our customers with a six-star hotel service because five stars just doesn’t cut it.”
McMurchie earned his paramedic and fire science degrees from Clackamas Community College.
Wells brings nearly two decades of construction industry experience to the new position. Most recently, he worked as a safety manager at G&W Commercial Interiors. He is OSHA-certified and he is working towards an ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) certification.
Also new to the Kent office as well as the roofing industry is Administrative Assistant Shelly Jenkins. Most recently, Jenkins worked in the commercial property management industry where she assisted in managing 17 properties throughout the state of Washington. After taking some time off work, she said she is excited to learn a new trade and assist the sales team’s efforts in the Puget Sound area.
