Columbia - WellsKENT, Wash. — Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal has promoted one and added two employees to its team based in Kent, Wash.

Jake McMurchie has been named commercial roofing consultant, and Jason Wells has been added to the sales team as a project manager.

McMurchie has worked for the company for four years as an apprentice and foreman. In his new role, he will focus on providing customers with a superior project management leadership and service.

Prior to joining Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal, McMurchie worked several years as a firefighter. He noted that “my leadership skills I developed as a fire fighter really helped me strive to be successful when managing projects and my crew. I strive to provide our customers with a six-star hotel service because five stars just doesn’t cut it.”

McMurchie earned his paramedic and fire science degrees from Clackamas Community College.

Columbia - McMurchieWells brings nearly two decades of construction industry experience to the new position.  Most recently, he worked as a safety manager at G&W Commercial Interiors.  He is OSHA-certified and he is working towards an ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) certification.

Also new to the Kent office as well as the roofing industry is Administrative Assistant Shelly Jenkins.  Most recently, Jenkins worked in the commercial property management industry where she assisted in managing 17 properties throughout the state of Washington. After taking some time off work, she said she is excited to learn a new trade and assist the sales team’s efforts in the Puget Sound area.

Mark Carpenter, CEO of Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal, says he is excited with the business’ growth in the Puget Sound market.

“It’s exciting to see our Puget Sound office grow with new talent,” Carpenter said.  “We are pleased with this group of individuals’ professional experience and leadership skills.  We look forward to a growth in sales as this team focuses their energies in this growing marketplace.”

Since 1996, Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal has operated as a specialty contractor with 62 full-time employees.  The company has operated in the Puget Sound area for two decades and works in 11 vertical markets, from high rise commercial buildings to senior living facilities.

Columbia Roofing & Sheet Metal focuses its services on commercial roofing, roof maintenance (Columbia Roof Advantage), sheet metal fabrication and installation, steep slope roofing, seismic upgrades and installation, and safety product installation. Learn more at www.reroofnow.com
