ROSEMONT, Ill. — The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) will hold a free Roofing Industry Fall Protection From A to Z class in Brookfield, Wis., on Sept. 13. This class focuses on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations applying to fall-protection systems and current OSHA state-plan requirements. The class features hands-on equipment demonstrations and techniques for self rescue and relief of suspension trauma. The program will help attendees recognize fall hazards present during roof-system installations and repairs; use appropriate controls for fall hazards on low- and steep-slope roofing projects; and identify strategies and techniques for rescue and self-rescue operations.

The free, one-day class will be held Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is required, and transportation and meal costs are not included.
