ROSEMONT, Ill. — The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) will hold its For Foremen Only, Level 1 class in Dallas on August 29. This course focuses on communication and management skills for field managers. By improving their communication skills, foremen will learn how to handle tough situations tactfully, especially when disciplinary action is needed. Foremen also will learn how to establish credibility, build rapport with crew members and motivate workers to improve jobsite productivity.

Stephen Torrey of Upstate Roofing and Painting, Batavia, N.Y., and Rochester, N.Y., said, “It was helpful to understand the different types of personalities. I also learned how to handle tough arguments. This class was well worth it.”

John Kapior of Waukegan Roofing, Waukegan, Ill., agreed. “This seminar was interesting and educational and consisted of hands-on training,” he said. “This was better than sitting and watching films and falling asleep. The instructors never lost my attention throughout the entire session.”

The one-day class will be held on August 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Dallas. The NRCA member price is $395, and the nonmember price is $495.
