SAN JOSE, Calif. — During a time of nationwide consolidation among roofing distributors, a group of seasoned distribution professionals decided to go against the trend and start a local, manager-owned distributorship called Elite Roofing Supply (ERS). Brian Torry, Greg Russell, Scott DeLine and Sarah Weiss teamed up to open two ERS facilities, one in San Jose, Calif., and the other in Orange, Calif.

The group’s goals, according to Torry, are to “build a healthy, entrepreneurial small business, with conservative and steady growth into new markets.”

“Roofing contractors place value on the concept of knowing that their local distribution branch manager is a partner in the company, and can make those tough decisions right on the spot,” Russell said. “They have a level of comfort in knowing these partners are the most knowledgeable of the issues that surround their day-to-day business.”
