GLENVIEW, Ill. — A new manual from the Metal Construction Association (MCA) provides general guidelines for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of portable roll-forming equipment in the manufacture of building wall and roof panels. The 31-page “Portable Roll Former Best Practices Operation Manual” is available as a pdf document at no charge on the MCA website.
The purpose of the manual is to familiarize company personnel and installers with general knowledge, basic operation, safety and maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting instructions for standard portable roll-forming processes. Topics discussed include safety, operation, maintenance and jobsite storage.

“Our members asked for a portable roll-former manual after we produced the factory roll-former guide a couple years ago,” said Bob Burquist, North American Sales for Bradbury Company and Chair of MCA’s Metal-forming Equipment/Roll-former Council.
