Thomas L. Saeli

Duro-Last Roofing, Inc., announced the hiring of Thomas L. Saeli as Chief Executive Officer. Saeli brings a wealth of experience and a breadth of knowledge to Duro-Last’s growing business. He was recently the Chief Executive Officer of Noble International, Ltd. Previous to that, he was Vice President of Corporate Development for Lear Corporation. His experience involves growing companies through acquisitions, joint ventures and sales increases. Tom has an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University and a B.A., in Economics from Hamilton College. Originally from New York, Saeli has lived in Michigan since 1988, where he and his wife Molly have raised their four children. In addition to Duro-Last, he will oversee the operations of sister companies Plastatech® Engineering, Ltd., Oscoda Plastics®, Inc., TIP-TOP® Screw Manufacturing, Inc., Energy Solutions Insulation®, Inc., and JRB Personnel, LLC.

Karl Kupser

ADCO Products Inc., a manufacturer of commercial roofing adhesives, Sealants, and tapes, has announced the hiring of Karl Kupser as a Technical Sales Manager for ADCO’s Roofing Products Business Unit, which serves Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Based in Denver, Colo., he will focus on providing support and services to roofing system manufacturers, distributors, contractors, specifiers and building owners. He brings over 20 years of roofing sales and service experience as a journeyman roofer, roofing superintendant, distribution branch manager and most recently project estimator. Miguel Zepeda

MAX announced the hiring of Miguel Zepeda as our new North West Regional Sales Executive. Miguel’s career includes over 15 years of outside sales experience in the wholesale of exteriors building products in the Pacific Northwest market. Miguel’s experience in sales includes but is not limited to siding, windows, roofing, decks and other exterior envelope products, Some of his previous employers include Cameron Ashley Building Products a national wholesaler of exterior building products, Parr Lumber Company a regional Lumberyard with a strong presence in the Pacific Northwest and most recently Norandex Building Materials Distribution a national wholesaler of exterior building products. Tara Murray

Tara Murray has been appointed Marketing Manager of Benjamin Obdyke Incorporated, a provider of roof and wall products to the residential and commercial construction markets. She will report directly to Michael Coulton, General Manager. In her new position, she is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans supporting all Benjamin Obdyke existing and new products. Murray comes to the company from CertainTeed Corporation’s Ceilings Division, where she held posts of increasing responsibility in product marketing and marketing communications. She began her career with the print and digital design services agency Warkulwiz Design Associates. Murray earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design communications from Philadelphia University. Thom Cain

Metal-Era, Inc., a leader in commercial roof edge and roof ventilation solutions, announced that Thom Cain has been promoted to Northeastern Regional Sales Manager. He will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the sales efforts of Roof Edge Solutions, Edge Systems One and Airflow Solutions for 15 states. He began at Metal-Era in 2003 as the Northeastern Regional Technical Manager. His strong field experience allows him to provide creative solutions for challenging and custom roof conditions. Throughout his career at Metal-Era Thom has been instrumental in managing a number of high profile projects. He has been involved in the roofing industry since 1979.

Kevin Hendricks

Two ABC Supply Co. Inc. vice presidents – Kevin Hendricks and Brent Fox – have assumed new roles with the company, positioning it to maximize the benefits of its 2010 acquisition of Bradco Supply Corp. Fox has been named vice president of national business development, a new position with the company. He had been vice president of divisional operations. Hendricks has been named vice president of divisional operations and strategic business units. He had been vice president of branch operations. In his new role, Fox will focus on growing ABC Supply’s relationships with large national and regional customers, including homebuilders, remodelers, commercial contractors and storm contractors.

Brent Fox

The company’s national accounts, commercial products and commercial sales teams will report to him. Hendricks, meanwhile, will now have responsibility for the ABC Supply businesses that supply some of the products sold in the company’s branches, including Mule-Hide Products Co. Inc. (low-slope roofing systems), Amcraft Building Products Co. Inc. (premium vinyl siding and window solutions), the ABC Supply Catalog Division (tools, supplies and equipment for contractors) and Town & Country Industries (manufacturer and wholesale distributor of building and aluminum products).

The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA) announced the appointment of James A. Baker, Jr., as General Manager of the Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association. Baker joined RCMA In September, 2007. Baker has over 15 years of association operations and management experience, most recently serving as Director of Industry Affairs for RCMA and the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association. He is an active participant in numerous roofing industry organizations, including serving as Vice Chair of the Cool Roof Ratings Council and Secretary/Treasurer of the Roofing Industry Committee on Weather Issues. During his tenure at RCMA, Baker has been instrumental in formulating public policy, engagement of key industry stakeholders, communicating industry positions, and developing consensus among members on key strategic issues.

Previously, Baker has served as Executive Director, Society of Financial Services Professionals; Deputy Director, Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute; Deputy Executive Director, Electronic Financial Services Council; Public Affairs Officer, Society of Women Engineers; and Director of Membership, Federal Bar Association.

In his new role with RCMA, Baker will leverage his broad association background to direct the day-today operations and activities of RCMA. In addition, he will continue to serve as staff liaison for the Government Affairs Committee, Technical Committee, Member Services Committee, and numerous strategic task forces and steering groups concentrating on key industry initiatives. Baker will also work with the Board of Directors in the implementation of RCMA programs and services, as well as developing new strategic initiatives. Baker will continue to report to Reed B. Hitchcock, RCMA Executive Director.

Supreme Roofing Systems, Inc. announced that senior project manager Dick E. Weibley has been named by Roof Integrated Solar Energy (RISE) as a Certified Solar Roofing Professional (CSRP). Weibley is among the first 14 roofing professionals in the country and the first in Texas to qualify for this certification. The CSRP designation is a voluntary certification for those who plan and oversee the installation of roof-mounted photovoltaic systems. The credential evaluates whether candidates have the underlying knowledge required to successfully install a roof-mounted PV system. RISE's board of directors certified Weibley after he passed a challenging examination. The exam tested applicants’ understanding of critical roof system construction and maintenance practices necessary to successfully support roof-mounted solar energy installation without adversely affecting roof system performance and service life.

Tecta America Corp. announced it has named Robert McNamara as President of Stock Roofing, a Tecta America Company in Minneapolis. McNamara is former National Roofing Contractor President and previous President of Tecta America’s F.J.A. Christiansen operation in Milwaukee, Wis. Stock Roofing has grown tremendously in the last few years and has particular expertise in green roofing, with the Target Center as a flagship project. Stock also has completed many notable projects, amongst them the Minneapolis Federal Courthouse, the St. Paul Fire Station, and the historical James J. Hill House. Stock Roofing was founded in 1987, and became a Tecta America Company in 2003. McNamara has over 30 years in the roofing industry, and holds a B.S. in accounting and a law degree from Marquette University.
