The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association announced the results of the Association’s prestigious Accident Prevention Contest.

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) announced the results of the Association’s prestigious Accident Prevention Contest.

In 2009, 98 facilities participated in the contest. ARMA’s top award is the ARMA President’s Award, presented to the top ranked company within its category (determined by number of labor hours worked).

This year’s President’s Award winners are:
• Group A, Over 300,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year: GAF Materials Corporation, Savannah, Ga.

• Group B, 200,000 to 300,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year: GAF Materials Corporation, Myerstown, Pa.

• Group C, 100,000 to 200,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year: Owens Corning, Brookville, Ind.

• Group D, Under 100,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year: Tarco, Greencastle, Pa.

In 2007, ARMA introduced the ARMA Award of Excellence, which is presented to each category winner demonstrating the lowest 3-year averaged ARMA Index. The 2009 Award of Excellence winners are:

• Group A, Over 300,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year: GAF Materials Corporation, Savannah, Ga.

• Group B, 200,000 to 300,000 Labor Hours Worked Per Year: GAF Materials Corporation, Fontana, Calif.
