GAF Materials Corporation recently selected winners for its “Text to Win” Sweepstakes.

Richard Widen, a contractor located in Bentonville, Ark., won the grand prize of a well equipped 2010 Ford F-150 valued at $37,655.

“I didn’t know one text message could win me a truck, and a nice one to boot,” Widen said. The promotion was open to all professional roofing contractors, builders, and remodelers, who simply had to text the word “GAFTRUCK” to a designated number on their mobile phones between June 15 and Aug. 15.

Winners of the remaining prizes include:

• First prize of complete GAF-Elk Timberline Roofing System valued $4,000 was awarded to Thomas Harmon of Dracut, Mass.; Tina Sousa of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and George Mann of Rigby, Idaho.


• Second prize of 30 squares of Timberline Prestique 30 shingles valued at $2,800 was awarded to Andrew Dalby of Roswell, Ga.; Ruben Degollado of Houston, Texas; Fausbino Buj of Colorado Springs, Colo,; Robert McCage of Bells, Tenn.; and Renata Almeida of Atlanta, Ga.


• Ten winners were awarded a third prize of $100 VISA Gift Cards.
