GAF Materials Corporation has received the Gold Remi award from the WorldFest Houston Film Festival for its Extreme Shingle Testing video. WorldFest is the oldest independent film and video festival in the world, created to recognize and honor outstanding creative excellence in the film and video arena.
WAYNE, N.J. – GAF Materials Corporation has received the Gold Remi award from the WorldFest Houston Film Festival for its Extreme Shingle Testing video. WorldFest is the oldest independent film and video festival in the world, created to recognize and honor outstanding creative excellence in the film and video arena.
The Extreme Shingle Testing video demonstrates the quality of GAF-Elk’s Timberline shingles, with Advanced Protection technology. The shingles are subjected to a battery of tests which are meant to emulate extreme weather conditions, including extreme water and wind testing at hurricane-force speeds. Thanks to Advanced Protection technology, which results in the optimum combination of weight and performance, the Timberline shingles pass every one of the torturous tests. The video also underscores the fact that every GAF-Elk shingle manufactured today passes ASTM’s two toughest wind tests: ASTM D3161 Class F 110 mph and ASTM D7158 Class H 150 mph. Based on published data, GAF believes it may be the only manufacturer that can make that claim.
With the WorldFest competition having ten major categories and more than 200 sub-categories, over 3,500 videos were submitted for judging. GAF-Elk was one of three winners out of 57 entries in the Sales and Marketing-Industry. “We are extremely honored to have won this award and are thrilled to know that our video was so effective in delivering its message,” stated Paul Bromfield, Senior Vice President, Marketing. “Our Advanced Protection shingle technology displays the efforts of GAF-Elk to continuously improve product performance, increase durability, and focus on our ongoing sustainability efforts.”
