CertainTeed Corporation Enhances Its ColorView Exterior Style and Color Selector to Provide More Web-Based Visualization Options for Homeowners

November 5, 2008
CertainTeed Corporation has introduced enhancements to ColorView, the company’s online interactive exterior style and color selector. Homeowners can now visualize how CertainTeed’s high-end roofing, vinyl and fiber cement siding, trim, fencing, railing and decking products look on various home styles.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. - CertainTeed Corporation has introduced enhancements to ColorView, the company’s online interactive exterior style and color selector. Homeowners can now visualize how CertainTeed’s high-end roofing, vinyl and fiber cement siding, trim, fencing, railing and decking products look on various home styles. The program can be accessed by visiting www.CertainTeed.com/ColorView.

Homeowners begin a ColorView session by entering their zip code to view color and brand availability. They then select the home style that most closely resembles their home, including Colonial, Victorian, Folk Victorian, Colonial Farm House, Ranch, Cape and Craftsman Tudor. The exterior of the selected home is then customizable with hundreds of different colors and styles of CertainTeed products.

The new software was created by RenoWorks, a leading provider of home design software and solutions for residential and commercial exterior and interior design markets.

“Through this partnership with RenoWorks, homeowners will have the ability to view all of CertainTeed’s exterior products in one place online with user-friendly navigation,” says Eric Nilsson, Vice President of Corporate Marketing for CertainTeed.

“Homeowners can find the best way to increase charm and curb appeal by mixing and matching all of CertainTeed’s quality products.”

“The ColorView web tool is a unique sales technology that gives CertainTeed an edge when fully implemented,” says Doug Vickerson, CEO of RenoWorks, “We are committed to growing this visualization solution over the long term and are excited about the value it will offer CertainTeed customers.”

After selecting the style of home, users can choose between a variety of CertainTeed brands and colors with the new drag and drop feature. The CertainTeed roofing shingles available on the software include, Grand Manor, Centennial Slate, Carriage House, Landmark, Landmark TL, Landmark Premium, Landmark Plus, Hatteras, Presidential Shake and Independence.

Vinyl and polymer siding options include Cedar Impressions, Northwoods, CedarBoards Insulated Siding, Monogram, Board and Batten Vertical Vinyl Siding and Wolverine Restoration Smooth. All of these can be nicely accented with Restoration Millwork and Vinyl Carpentry PVC trim products.

WeatherBoards and ColorMax FiberCement Siding are also available on the visualization tool, as well as a variety of colors choices. Railing choices EverNew and Panorama, vinyl decking, EverNew, and vinyl fencing, Bufftech are available for homeowners to choose from if an outdoor living area is of interest.

Users also have the ability to save images and color choices with a username and password as well as email friends and family or share with a building professional. Additional enhancements will be made to the program throughout the year. For more information, call 800-782-8777.
