ELDERSBURG, Md. - S&K Roofing, Siding and Windows
announced that the company would kick off their 5th Annual Holiday Food Drive
to benefit the Maryland Food Bank.
Last year, S&K collected 2,222 pounds of food, which was
delivered to the Maryland Food Bank. In addition, S&K matched each pound of
food collected with a $1 donation and presented the Maryland Food Bank with a
check from S&K Sales Director Charlie McCurry.
“This year, the goal is even higher as we hope to reach
2,500 pounds,” McCurry said. “It’s ambitious I know, but with the help of our
community we can do it. Food donations at the Maryland Food Bank are at an
all-time low this year and we need to aim high so we can help as many people as
possible.”
Since the first annual drive in 2003, the company has
donated over 2 tons of food to the Maryland Food Bank.
Canned and non-perishable food, as well as non-food items,
can be donated at a drop box located in S&K’s showroom at 5399 Enterprise Street
in Eldersburg now through Dec. 17, 2008.
The most needed food items include canned meat, peanut
butter, macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, cereal, pasta, canned fruits and
vegetables, and soup. Non-food items needed include diapers, toilet paper,
feminine hygiene items, plastics/paper plates, and cups. For more information,
