Chaffee Industrial Roofing Turns 100
July 25, 2008
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Chaffee Industrial Roofing is celebrating 100 years in business. Led by Steve Chaffee, the third generation of the Chaffee family, the firm was established in 1908 by Thomas K. Chaffee, and installs and services roofs on industrial and commercial buildings throughout New England.
The company has evolved since its founding as T.K. Chaffee Co., when its signature product was Chaffee’s Mill White paint, sold widely to textile mills in New England. The firm began selling roofing products in 1946 under Henry Chaffee, and customers included U.S. Steel, Mack Truck, Hershey Chocolate, Johnson and Johnson, West Point Pepperell and many more, extending from Alabama to Maine.
In 1982, Steve Chaffee became the third generation Chaffee to take charge expanding the company into a full service commercial and industrial roofing contractor with its own fleet of trucks and full time installation crews. Within five years, the company made the Inc. 500 list of “fastest-growing companies in America,” and is a licensed, award-winning installer of all the major brands of roofing products, including Carlisle SynTec.
“We attribute our success and longevity to our readiness to change and adapt to the needs of the customers, while consistently delivering the highest quality products and services,” Chaffee said. For more information, call 401-438-1160 or visit www.chaffeeroofing.com.
