Wayne, N.J. - In 2004, GAF Materials Corp. introduced EnergyCap™ modified bitumen cap sheet, which combines the proven performance of Ruberoid modified bitumen membranes and Topcoat® roof coating into a single, Energy Star-qualified roof membrane. Now, GAF is pleased to introduce EnergyCap BUR Cap Sheet, which combines the proven performance of GAFGLAS BUR felts and Topcoat roof coating into a single, Energy Star-qualified cap sheet. It will initially be introduced on the West Coast, where over 90 percent of built-up roofing systems typically include a granule-surfaced cap sheet.

Multi-ply systems using EnergyCap cap sheets meet Energy Star or Title 24 requirements and are less expensive to install than other "white" roofing options. The EnergyCap membranes are "Brilliant White," thanks to the factory-applied layer of Topcoat elastomeric coating, saving time and labor compared to applying the coating after the membrane has been installed. The factory-installed coating eliminates the need to measure and gauge coating application and eliminates guesswork, resulting in consistent quality, uniform application and less waste.
