Texas Storm Recovery Programs Remain Open in 27 Counties
RCAT calls attention to homeowner aid.

The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) is urging members to tell storm-damaged homeowners about two state recovery programs accepting applications in 27 counties affected by disasters in 2024.
The Texas General Land Office allocated $244.1 million to its Homeowner Assistance Program for repair or reconstruction and $43.1 million to its Homeowner Reimbursement Program.
Reimbursement for eligible out-of-pocket repairs ranges from $3,000 to $75,000 for site-built homes and from $3,000 to $50,000 for manufactured homes. The programs are funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Texas General Land Office
The aid applies to eligible primary residences damaged by severe storms, flooding or Hurricane Beryl.
Homeowners may apply to only one program.
The state reviews applications on a first-come, first-served basis and provides application information at glo.texas.gov/disaster-recovery/apply.
Houston and Harris County residents are excluded from these state-administered programs because those jurisdictions received separate funding.
