Roofing Good Deeds: Uplifting Stories from Across the Industry (July 31, 2026)

Roofing contractors are stepping up for their communities, from providing emergency tarping after a destructive tornado in Wisconsin to supporting animal rescue and veterans’ services. Prestige Roofing, Monarch Roofing and Good Shepherd Roofing are showing how contractors can make an impact beyond the jobsite.

Wisconsin Roofer Offers Free Tarping After EF-3 Tornado

Prestige Roofing LLC is providing free emergency roof tarping to homeowners affected by the July 27 tornado that struck Appleton, Menasha and surrounding communities in northeastern Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service gave the tornado a preliminary EF-3 rating, estimating peak winds of 140 mph. The tornado traveled approximately 12 miles from western Appleton through Fox Crossing and Menasha, damaging homes, businesses and trees before dissipating over Lake Winnebago.<.p>

The Green Bay-based roofing contractor said it is mobilizing crews to cover storm-damaged roofs, stop active leaks and help prevent additional water and structural damage at no cost to homeowners.

“It’s important to us to step up and help our local community,” said Jorge Suarez, owner of Prestige Roofing. “We know how scary it can be.”

Monarch Roofing Donates Second Roof to Animal Rescue

Monarch Roofing is donating a new roof to an expanded All 4 Paws Animal Rescue facility in South Carolina, marking the contractor’s second major roofing contribution to the nonprofit.

The new building will add indoor kennels, allowing All 4 Paws to shelter more animals while they await adoption. The organization began expanding after reaching full capacity amid increased demand for its rescue services, according to a company announcement.

The project follows Monarch Roofing’s 2024 donation of a new roof for the rescue organization’s main campus. In addition to the latest roof installation, the Myrtle Beach-area contractor contributed $500 for food, cleaning products and other supplies used in the nonprofit’s daily operations.

“Our partnership with All 4 Paws Animal Rescue reflects our commitment to the communities we serve,” said Joe Riddle, general manager of Monarch Roofing. “We are proud to support their growth and help expand their capacity to serve more animals.”

All 4 Paws Animal Rescue is a South Carolina nonprofit that rescues, rehabilitates and finds homes for abandoned and surrendered animals.

The donation was announced in conjunction with Palmetto Giving Day, held May 5-6. All 4 Paws sought to raise $90,000 during the campaign to support its facility expansion and animal-care services.

Good Shepherd Roofing Donates $1,500 to Veterans Nonprofit

Good Shepherd Roofing has donated $1,500 to Operation Rally Point, a Georgia nonprofit that assists veterans and their families during periods of crisis.

The Dacula, Ga.-based roofing contractor made the contribution through its Community Impact Program, which directs 1% of the company’s top-line revenue each month to nonprofits serving communities across North Georgia.

Operation Rally Point was founded by Army veteran Brandon Watts. Based in Monroe, Ga., the organization assists veterans facing homelessness, financial hardship, addiction, mental health challenges and other difficult circumstances.

Its services include emergency lodging, peer support, housing resources, benefits assistance, recovery programs and advocacy. Good Shepherd Roofing said the $1,500 contribution will support the organization’s ongoing work with veterans and their families.

“One of the things that makes Good Shepherd Roofing different is that we’re not just working in this community — we’re part of it,” company founder Doug Ingram said.

As part of the contractor’s monthly program, Good Shepherd Roofing also highlights the selected nonprofit through its Community Impact Podcast to raise awareness of the organization and its services. Watts appeared on the podcast to discuss his military service, personal recovery and the experiences that led him to establish Operation Rally Point.
