Giving Back
Roofing Good Deeds: Uplifting Stories from Across the Industry (May 8, 2026)

Roofing contractors across the Southeast are finding ways to give back beyond the job site. From feeding students on weekends to celebrating the teachers who show up for them every day, these companies are investing in the communities they serve — one act of generosity at a time.
Action Roofing Hosts Teacher Appreciation Lunch
Action Roofing sponsored a Teacher Appreciation Week cookout for 220 teachers and staff members at Gulf Shores Elementary School in Alabama on May 4.
The residential and commercial roofing contractor provided food for the event, while local firefighters grilled burgers during the school’s midday break as part of the celebration.
“There is no better way to introduce yourself to a new community than to invest in the people who make it great,” said Ryan Krantz, director of operations at Action Roofing. “The teachers at Gulf Shores Elementary dedicate themselves to these kids every single day, and we are proud that one of our first acts in this community was to celebrate them.”
The company said the event reflected the collaborative spirit among local businesses, educators and first responders in the Gulf Shores community as Action Roofing expands its presence along the Gulf Coast.

Findlay Roofing donated $5,000 to Backpack Blessings and helped assemble more than 100 food bags for students in Cobb County, Ga., through a new community partnership initiative.
The roofing contractor said employees volunteered to pack “blessing bags” containing meals and snacks for students served by Backpack Blessings, a nonprofit that supports local families during weekends throughout the school year.
The organization partners with Fair Oaks Elementary School, Milford Elementary School and The Salvation Army Marietta Corps after-school program to distribute backpacks filled with food and encouragement messages on Fridays.
Students also received stuffed “Roofus” dogs, based on Findlay Roofing’s company mascot.
“Backpack Blessings is making a meaningful difference for students and families right here in Cobb County,” said Brendan Casey, general manager of Findlay Roofing. “At Findlay Roofing, we believe in showing up for the communities we serve.”
Findlay Roofing, founded in 1995, provides residential and commercial roofing services throughout the Atlanta area.

Skymark Roofing celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week by treating 116 teachers at Melbourne High School to a complimentary breakfast on May 7. The Central Florida roofing contractor delivered bagels, fruit and coffee to faculty members and also provided branded lunch boxes filled with teacher essentials, including a coffee mug, notepad and pen.
“Teachers give everything they have to our kids every single day, and we wanted to show up for them the same way they show up for their students,” said Nick Cogswell, general manager at Skymark Roofing. “Melbourne High School is part of this community, and so are we. This is just one small way we can say thank you.”
Melbourne High School, which has served Brevard County since 1883, enrolls more than 2,100 students and offers programs including International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Career and Technical Education, and the arts. Skymark said supporting local educators was a natural extension of its work serving Melbourne-area neighborhoods year-round.
