Accurately locating RhinoBond plates beneath the membrane is a routine but time-sensitive step that can affect both installation speed and quality. OMG Roofing Products is introducing a new tool that aims to help in that process.

The RhinoMark™ Plate Marking System helps roofing crews quickly identify and mark the center of RhinoBond® plates before welding.

According to the manufacturer, the tool creates a visible reference point on the membrane surface, allowing installers to align the RhinoBond® welder more precisely over each plate.

This reduces the need for repositioning and helps prevent missed welds.

“By using the RhinoMark™ system to mark plates, roofers can more accurately place tools for welding and cooling providing the highest quality work possible and focus on doing what they do best - which is building great roofs,” said Matthew Lavallee, Sr. Product Manager for RhinoBond® at OMG Roofing Products.

OMG Products promises that for crews working across large roof areas, the tool could lead to increased productivity and more uniform results.

The tool is operated from a standing position, which may help reduce installer fatigue. It uses magnetic guides to center over plates and includes a mechanism that prevents marking unless the tool is properly aligned, reducing the risk of misplaced marks and rework.

According to the manufacturer, the precision mark lasts between 7 and 30 days.
