The Power of Roofing Day 2026
The NRCA’s Duane Musser previews the issues and opportunities roofing contractors and other roofing pros will push on Capitol Hill April 14-15.
For the ninth-straight year, roofing industry professionals will fly into Washington for a full day of education and advocacy about the issues impacting the industry most.
Roofing Day 2026 is set for April 14-15, and there’s still time to join other stakeholders from across the industry to relay concerns directly to members of Congress and their staffs with one voice. The annual fly-in event to the nation’s capital is the roofing industry’s single-largest advocacy initiative with members of the U.S. Congress. Each year, supporters say it continues to grow in importance, but organizers noted this year’s event is happening at such a critical time for the U.S. economically.
Why Roofing Day 2026 is Critical
When hundreds of roofing contractors and other industry professionals from around the country fly-in to Washington, D.C. to speak with one voice, members of the U.S. Congress appear to listen. They’ll get their chance again at the ninth annual Roofing Day April 14-15. Organized by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), the event offers roofing activists the chance to meet directly with members of Congress and their staffs and share information about what decisions made at the federal level are impacting them most at home. The NRCA’s Duane Musser recently joined RC’s Jill Bloom to briefly preview the event in this exclusive episode.
“It's a great opportunity for everybody in the industry, whether you're a contractor, manufacturer, distributor, consultant, whatever role you play,” said Duane Musser, vice president of government relations for the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA).
“Democracy's a participatory sport. We need people to show up to have good numbers, so we really need everybody,” he said.
