Florida Attorney General Moves to Halt Roofer Lawsuits
Attorney general seeks injunction in consumer protection lawsuit accusing Florida Roof Specialists of deceptive practices and filing liens against homeowners.

The Florida Attorney General’s Office filed a motion for a temporary injunction in a civil lawsuit against Florida Roof Specialists of Jacksonville, Fla., asking a Citrus County judge to halt ongoing court cases between the company and consumers, according to a report from WFLA.
The motion was filed as part of a lawsuit the attorney general’s office brought in September 2025 against Florida Roof Specialists and its president, Jeremy S. Rogero. The complaint alleges the company engaged in a scheme that violated the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act following an investigation into more than 130 consumer complaints.
According to the complaint, the roofing contractor filed “frivolous” and “baseless” liens against homeowners after disputes over roofing work and payments. State officials are seeking to have those liens dismissed and are asking the court to declare the contracts underlying the liens unenforceable.
