Roofing Alliance, Texas A&M Launch Safety Research Survey
Roofing contractors can help advance safety industry-wide by taking a brief online survey exploring the factors that influence jobsite safety practices.

The Roofing Alliance is asking roofing contractors to help advance safety practices industry-wide by participating in a new survey.
The online survey, developed and implemented by a partnership between the Roofing Alliance and Texas A&M University, is designed for safety managers, superintendents, foremen and other roofing pros with direct experience overseeing safety on commercial or residential roofing projects. It will examine the psychological factors underlying why some roofing employees do not follow safety practices consistently, despite having access to the proper equipment, training and incentives.
This collaborative research aims to improve long-term planning and safety, with studies covering areas like moisture, high-wind conditions, and overall safety and workforce productivity, as mentioned on the Roofing Alliance website.
Researchers believe that the findings will inform further interviews with roof-safety personnel and the development of evidence-based strategies to implement a widespread commitment to staying safe on the rooftop.
The initiative is an extension of the ongoing relationship between the Alliance and the university, which won the Construction Management Student Competition at the 2025 IRE in San Antonio last year.
The survey is 12 questions long and should take between 10-15 minutes to complete. It is also available in English and Spanish at www.roofingalliance.net.
