XBuild Raises $19M to Transform Construction Estimating
AI-native platform expands from roofing to multiple construction trades with new funding round led by N47.

XBuild, an AI platform purpose-built for the construction industry, announced a $19 million Series A funding round on Jan. 20, 2026, led by N47 with participation from Rackhouse Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. The funding will support the development of what the company calls the first “vibe coding” estimating platform designed to serve all of construction.
Founded by former Uber and Postmates executives Jahan Khanna and Rob Moran, alongside civil engineer Sharuk Khanna, XBuild blends Silicon Valley product development experience with deep, practical construction knowledge. The company aims to modernize one of the industry’s most persistent pain points: estimating and proposal generation.
Contractors across trades continue to struggle with pricing accuracy, cash-flow delays, homeowner skepticism, and fragmented communication. XBuild addresses these challenges with an AI-native, agentic, chat-based estimating platform trained on the real inputs contractors already use, including measurement reports and site photos. The system generates standardized, editable estimates in minutes, without demos, onboarding, or complex setup.
After launching its first insurance-focused point solution last year, XBuild has already seen significant traction. In its first year, more than 15,000 projects were run to completion through the platform, representing approximately $250 million in construction volume. Contractors using XBuild have collectively saved more than 40,000 hours previously spent creating estimates.
Building on that momentum, the company is now launching Roofing Proposals, a new product designed specifically for residential roofing contractors. The solution replaces legacy, template-driven estimating tools with a faster, more transparent proposal experience that can generate a finished estimate in under 15 minutes.
Roofing Proposals integrates with major material suppliers, including ABC Supply, to provide real-time pricing that helps contractors maintain clear and accurate profit margins. The platform also removes common measurement format barriers by supporting PDF reports from providers such as EagleView, GAF QuickScope, Hover, and Roofr, as well as manual photos from tools like CompanyCam.
For homeowners, the platform generates a shareable proposal link with Good/Better/Best pricing options, e-signature capabilities, and Stripe Connect payments, streamlining the buying process while accelerating contractor cash flow.
“Construction and the cost of building is the last space that truly has not been disrupted by technology in the way most of the rest of the world has,” said Jahan Khanna, co-founder of XBuild. “It is the final frontier, and in order to deal with the cost of living crisis all of us face today, it must become cheaper, faster, and easier to build things in the physical world.”
Khanna added that XBuild and the broader AI revolution have the potential to serve as a catalyst for meaningful change across the industry.
Investors point to XBuild’s blend of industry expertise and practical AI application as a key differentiator. “Estimating and proposal generation remain major bottlenecks for contractors, yet legacy tools haven't kept pace with AI capabilities or the realities of how the industry works today,” said Matthew Cowan, general partner at N47. “XBuild delivers compelling automation and efficiency gains in construction.”
With the new funding, XBuild plans to scale its proposal capabilities beyond roofing into additional verticals, including concrete, landscaping, painting, windows and doors, glass and glazing, insulation, HVAC, and plumbing—positioning the platform as a unified estimating solution for the broader construction market.
