Associated Builders and Contractors announced in November that Thomas “Murph” Murphy, vice president of Power & Construction Group in Scottsville, N,Y., has been elected chair of the ABC National Board of Directors for 2026. The election took place during the association’s annual Leadership Institute in Marco Island, Fla.

“I am honored to serve ABC and its members as the 2026 national chair,” said Murphy. “Beginning my construction career in the field taught me the value of every role on a jobsite and deepened my appreciation for the merit shop philosophy, which empowers individuals to rise from laborer to industry leader. I am proud to work alongside ABC members who are dedicated to growing their businesses, upskilling their workforces, and promoting free and open competition across America. In this role, I aim to strengthen ABC’s advocacy for free enterprise, worker choice, and small business, while expanding the Accredited Quality Contractor credential among our most committed members.”

Michael Bellaman, ABC president and CEO, added, “ABC is synonymous with merit in the construction industry, and our leaders exemplify what that means by building stronger communities, investing in their teams, and delivering projects of the highest quality and integrity. Congratulations to Murph, Chair-Elect Brandon Mabile, Secretary Lorri Grayson, and all members of the 2026 Executive Committee for their dedication to advancing ABC and the construction industry.”
