ERA Names Nick Parent as New Board Chair
Amrize Building Envelope leader succeeds Carlisle’s Mike Ducharme

The EPDM Roofing Association (ERA), which represents the manufacturers of EPDM single-ply roofing products and their leading suppliers, has announced the appointment of Nick Parent, director of product management at Amrize Building Envelope, as chair of its board of directors.
Parent, who brings more than 20 years of experience in building materials and specialty chemicals, succeeds Mike Ducharme, a founding ERA member and longtime industry leader, who guided the association through multiple terms as chair.
Ducharme, former vice president of marketing at Carlisle Construction Materials, was the previous chair of the ERA Board of Directors from 2023-2025. As a member of ERA since its inception in 2003, Ducharme has played a pivotal role in the founding of the association and growth over the past two decades. In addition to being chair of ERA in 2010-2011 and 2017-2018, he was an active member of ERA’s Technical Committee, helping to shape studies on EPDM recycling, the hail-durability of EPDM, and the long-term service life of EPDM. Under Ducharme’s continued guidance and support, the organization became one of the most influential associations in the industry, as well as in the area of code and policy advocacy.
“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have Mike as a key leader in ERA since the very beginning,” said Ellen Thorp, executive director of the EPDM Roofing Association. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to welcome Nick as ERA’s new chair. His unique experience and insight will be a tremendous asset as we continue to navigate the evolving challenges facing the roofing industry.”
Parent brings more than 20 years of professional experience in building materials and specialty chemicals for various markets, including commercial roofing, oil and gas production, and industrial cleaning and sanitation markets. As the director of product management for Amrize Building Envelope, he manages both the Elevate and GenFlex product portfolios. Parent has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and obtained his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
