Benchmark Adds Two Independent Board Members
Addition of industry leaders gives heft to strategy and oversight
Benchmark strengthened its governance by adding Scott Kongable, retired president of Crystal Group, and Thomas E. Pientok, former president and CEO of Timberline Manufacturing, to its Board of Directors.

Benchmark, the roof and pavement consultancy group, announced the appointment of two independent members to its Board of Directors.
Scott Kongable, retired president of Crystal Group, and Thomas E. Pientok, former president and CEO of Timberline Manufacturing, both leaders with decades of experience, will join the board.
In a news release on Tuesday, the company said the strategic advancement strengthens Benchmark’s governance framework while bringing in new perspectives to support the company’s ongoing success.

With 20 years at the helm of Crystal Group, Benchmark said Kongable spearheaded growth by helping the company transition into new markets and establish a strong foothold in military and industrial solutions.
"Helping Benchmark build on its impressive history and reach even greater heights is an honor," Kongable said. “I hope to further enhance the foundation it has already established."
Tom Pientok
Pientok brings over 30 years of strategic planning, operational leadership and change management expertise. While leading Timberline Manufacturing, Benchmark said revenues doubled, and the company adeptly overcame supply chain complexities while fostering a strong, values-driven culture.
“Benchmark’s culture of integrity and technical excellence aligns perfectly with my leadership values,” Pientok said.
