Roofing Alliance Announces New Member: Roofing Contractor Magazine

Industry’s ‘magazine of record’ becomes newest Service Provider member

By Bryan Gottlieb
Roofing Contractor magazine has joined The Roofing Alliance.

For those of a certain age, you may remember the famous Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup ads of the 1970s and ’80s that touted “two great tastes that taste great together.”

In that vein, The Roofing Alliance and Roofing Contractor magazine, the nonprofit's 199th member — together — are committed to advancing the roofing industry through education, research, and outreach.

With an editorial mandate to be the roofing industry’s go-to resource — its ‘magazine of record,’ if you will — The Roofing Alliance welcomed its newest member in a Facebook announcement last week: Roofing Contractor magazine, based in suburban Detroit, joined the nonprofit at the Service Provider level; RC is the foundation’s 199th member.

"The Roofing Alliance is an example of what the roofing industry does best: pull together our various talents and specialties to help keep the industry vibrant moving forward,” said RC Publisher Jill Bloom.

The Roofing Alliance is the nonprofit philanthropic arm of the National Roofing Contractors Association and provides financial resources and material support to further the organization’s mission to bolster the roofing workforce and support the communities in which roofers work and live.

“We are thrilled to welcome Roofing Contractor to the Roofing Alliance,” Alison LaValley, Roofing Alliance executive director, said in an email. “[Its] commitment to advancing the roofing industry aligns perfectly with our mission to elevate and support roofing professionals through education, research, and outreach initiatives.”

Since its founding in 1996, The Roofing Alliance has attracted some of the industry's best and brightest roofing professionals. Collaboratively, they select and provide oversight of programs and funding for progressive research that shapes, improves, and advances the roofing industry in four key areas: education and training, technology, sustainability, and philanthropy.

“Member participation is vital within the Roofing Alliance, and much of the organization’s strength comes from its broad base of supportive contributors,” LaValley added. “The roofing industry has a wonderful history of generosity, and for roofing professionals who would like to be involved in giving back and securing the future excellence of the roofing industry, the Roofing Alliance provides the perfect opportunity to collaborate, commit and contribute on multiple levels.”
