TAMKO announced last week that StormFighter FLEX, its newest offering in the Proline shingle series, won the Experts’ Choice Award for roofing products in the Innovative Product Showcase and Awards Program at the International Roofing Expo. 

In a March 11 news release, TAMKO said the IRE’s inaugural awards program celebrates cutting-edge solutions in the roofing and exteriors industry; products were voted on by industry experts and a panel of IRE360 editors.

“Being chosen as a top roofing product by industry experts is further testament to the strength of TAMKO’s StormFighter FLEX shingles,” said Alex Hines, TAMKO’s vice president of Sales and Marketing “As one professional roofing contractor said, ‘I don’t think anyone has anything close to it.’” 

Hines went on to describe StormFighter FLEX as an “...all-weather performance shingle with the flexibility to help withstand impact, high winds, rain, and freezing temperatures.” 

The company outlined some of the product’s features it believes helped separate it from the competition, including:

• 160-MPH Wind Warranty — the highest wind warranty for a polymer-modified impact-rated shingle.
• Installation at 25 degrees Fahrenheit — the lowest warranted application temperature for any asphalt shingle.
• Impact-rated performance, as classified by Underwriters Laboratories for UL 2218 Class 3 and Class 4 impact rating.
• All-weather performance with proprietary ForceFX polymer technology exclusive to TAMKO.
