The Manufacturing Institute has recognized Hana Lane, plant leader at Owens Corning’s Jacksonville, Fla., roofing manufacturing facility, with a Women MAKE Award for 2024; Lane was one of 100 honorees nationwide selected for this honor.

The Women MAKE Awards recognize women in science, technology, engineering, and production careers who exemplify leadership within their companies, Owens Corning said in a March 8 news release. 

The honor identifies top talent in the manufacturing industry and encourages award winners to mentor and support the next generation of female talent to pursue modern manufacturing careers.

“Hana is a talented manufacturing leader who represents the many outstanding women who work at Owens Corning,” said Gunner Smith, Owens Corning Roofing Business President. She has been instrumental in driving manufacturing efficiencies while developing her team and serving as an active member of the community.

Lane joined Owens Corning in 2011 through the company’s manufacturing leadership development program. She has held roles of increasing responsibility, including being promoted to operations leader of the Irving, Texas, roofing plant in 2017 before being named plant leader of the company’s Jacksonville plant in 2023. 

She has served as a role model and mentor to elementary school students and volunteers at an after-school fitness program for children. She has also volunteered at the local Humane Society and has supported Habitat for Humanity through home-building events.

In honor of her accomplishments, OC said Lane will attend a two-day leadership program and be recognized at an evening gala on April 18 in Washington, D.C.
