GAF, one of North America’s leading roofing and waterproofing manufacturers, is partnering with Southern California-based contractors BYLTup, Celoseal Roofing, and Antis Roofing & Waterproofing to bring the GAF Roofing Academy to the region.

In an October 4 news release, GAF announced the free, week-long event, which offers students the opportunity to participate in one of three unique trainings, including:

  • residential/steep-slope roofing training
  • commercial/low-slope roofing training
  • roofing sales/insurance training

The company said GAF Roofing Academy combines in-classroom and hands-on training and is designed to help build the necessary skills for entry-level positions in roofing. The one-week courses will begin on October 23rd and are open to anyone — no previous construction experience is required.

Once training is completed, students will participate in a job fair with the partner contractors and other local employers looking to hire motivated graduates.

The GAF Roofing Academy is part of GAF’s social impact initiative, ‘GAF Community Matters,’ which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources and products to help build resilient workforces, shelter, and families.
