It’s already been a challenging storm season for property owners and roofers in multiple markets across the country. Fueled by record heat, expectations for a calmer hurricane season this year are shifting – as are most eyes in the roofing and storm recovery from the Midwest and Great Plains to the southern coasts. 

RC Group Publisher Jill Bloom recently caught up with Steve Slepcevic, CEO of Strategic Response Partners, to discuss how roofing contractors can set themselves up for a successful season by knowing how to set up their base camp.

It starts with the right mindset, which can’t be projecting just how flush with jobs they think they’ll be if a storm hits. 

“Then they realize their employees are impacted by the storm; they realize their building is impacted by the storm, and then they’re struggling just to answer the phones,” he said.
