VaproShield, a manufacturer of breathable membrane systems for roofs and walls, has unveiled BlockShield SA Plus for roofs, a self-adhered air, water and vapor barrier underlayment.

According to VaproShield, BlockShield SA Plus is made from "proprietary high strength polypropylene sheet with a very aggressive adhesive layer" that bonds to virtually all deck types. For use on both commercial and residential construction, BlockShield SA Plus creates a barrier against vapor and air infiltration. 

BlockShield SA Plus features no red list chemicals, is zero VOCs, and contains 18 to 20% post-industrial recycled content. It is compatible with OSB, plywood, gypsum and concrete.* BlockShield SA Plus does not require a primer for installation. It has a six-month UV and weather exposure and can be applied at temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-6 degrees Celsius).

With a Class A UL Fire Rating, UL790 and CAN/ULC-S107 using a quarter-inch thermal board and a 20-year material warranty, BlockShield SA Plus is sure to provide optimal walkability, traction, and sealability.
