Northpoint Roofing Systems Acquires Cardinal Roofing; Expands Southeastern U.S. Footprint
Private equity-backed Northpoint Roofing Systems, based in Woodstock, Ga., announced the acquisition of Cardinal Roofing and Restoration out of Birmingham, Ala. The purchase gives Northpoint entrée into the Alabama and Gulf Coast marketplace.

Northpoint Roofing Systems, one of the several private equity-backed umbrella groups reshaping the roofing contracting space, announced on June 13 that it had acquired Birmingham, Ala.-based Cardinal Roofing and Restoration.
A Halmos Capital Partners and NewSpring portfolio company, Northpoint Roofing Systems’ acquisition of Cardinal Roofing is the portfolio’s third roster addition this year and now gives the company access to markets in Birmingham, Mobile, Ala., and the greater Gulf Coast region.
Founded in 2012, Cardinal Roofing is a leading provider of residential roof replacement and repair services in the greater Alabama area. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are excited to bring Cardinal Roofing into the Northpoint Roofing Systems team,” Patrick Maginn, Northpoint’s CEO, said in a news release announcing the acquisition. “Cardinal Roofing's commitment to customer service, quality, and culture make them an ideal fit for Northpoint … we are especially excited to have a new partner in a fast-growing southeast market.”
Northpoint began its buying spree earlier this year after purchasing Master Roofers of New Hampshire and Rising Star Roofing in Connecticut. The firm also has three locations operating in neighboring Georgia serving the Atlanta metropolitan area.
