FORT WORTH, Texas — The North Texas Roofing Contractors Association (NTRCA) – a regional association for professional residential and commercial roofing contractors, distributors, manufacturers and associates who maintain the highest industry standards – announced this year’s 2022 board of directors and roofing award winners for 2021 projects. 

During the NTRCA Awards Banquet, held Feb. 19 at The Statler in Dallas, the winners of the annual Industry Leader of the Year and Associate of the Year awards were announced and recognized for their significant contributions to the North Texas roofing industry. 

The Industry Leader of the Year honor, the NTRCA’s most prestigious recognition each year, was awarded to Susan Edwards, former president of HEC Roofing, a family-run company that spanned three generations. Edwards has been a leader in the roofing industry for over 40 years, including serving as a president of NTRCA.  

The Associate of the Year honor was awarded to Jim Fell, co-founder of C-CAP, who has spent over 40 years in the roofing industry and has raised standards through his expertise and dedication.

The 2022 NTRCA board members were also sworn in during the NTRCA Awards Banquet. 

The NTRCA board officers for 2022 are:

  • President: Carolyn Coleman, president at Tice Enterprises, Ltd. 
  • Past President:  Kirk Scott, owner/president at Scott Exteriors 
  • President-Elect: Craig Rainey,  executive vice president at Supreme Roofing
  • Treasurer: Bret Foster, owner at Bret Foster Roofing, Inc.

Other members of the 2022 NTRCA board of directors are:

  • Jesus Arzate, territory manager at GAF 
  • Brad Chapman, marketing director at Empire Roofing
  • Kyle Frazier, sales manager at Frazier Roofing and Guttering
  • Mike Fronczak, managing partner at ABC Supply Co.
  • Tina Hall, CEO at Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting
  • Aimee Greenleaf, North Texas territory manager at CertainTeed
  • Chad Perkins, senior area sales manager at Owens Corning
  • Sean Seymour, territory sales representative at IKO Industries

  • Darren Williams, president/CEO at IntegriBuilt
  • Josh Wilke, territory manager at Southern Shingles/SRS Distribution, Inc.

Golden Hammer Award

NTRCA Golden Hammer Award winners were also recognized during the event. NTRCA’s annual Golden Hammer Awards acknowledge outstanding roofing projects completed during the prior year. Entries are judged each year on logistical challenges, quality workmanship, uniqueness, difficulty, time constraints, innovative solutions and safety challenges.

Golden Hammer Award for Community Service projects: Springtree Restoration LLC for its Jones Residence Project (with support from D & H Roofing and McCoy’s Building Supply); and PROCO Roofing for its Easy Street Project (with support from ABC Supply Co.).

Commercial contractors winning a Golden Hammer Award this year: KPost Roofing & Waterproofing for its Verizon Hidden Ridge Roof Replacement Project (with support from SPEC Building Materials Corporation); Supreme Roofing for its Jewish Community Center of Dallas Project (with support from Premier Building Envelope Consultants); and Empire Roofing Inc. for its The Kings University - Gateway Church Project. 

Residential contractors selected to receive a Golden Hammer Award this year: The Tom Drake Roofing Company for the Buckingham Project (with support from ABC Supply Co. and CertainTeed); Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting for its Garsek Residence Project (with support from ABC Supply Co. and The Roof Tile and Slate Company); and IntegriBuilt Roofing for its Korenvaes Slate Roof Project (with support from H & R General Construction).

Contractors selected to receive a Golden Hammer Award this year in the Metal Roofing category: Texas Roofing Management Inc. for its Bell Tower at Old Parkland Project, SPS Roofing Inc. for its SLPS Metal Roof Project; Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting for two separate projects this year – the Susser Bank Project (with support from Berridge) and the Nelson Residence Project (with support from Berridge); and Arrington Roofing Co. Inc. for its Stevens Park Residence Project (with support from Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc., GAF, Midwest Metals and SA Quality Metals). 

Tile contractors winning a Golden Hammer Award this year: Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting for its Moss Residence Project (with support from SPEC Building Materials Corporation, Catch-All, and H & E Equipment); Ramon Roofing Inc. for its Broad Street Project (with support from SPEC Building Materials Corporation); and Ramon Roofing Inc. for its Simondale Project (with support from SPEC Building Materials Corporation).
