ROSEMONT, Ill.  — The Roofing Alliance, the foundation of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), announces its participation in the 2022 International Roofing Expo (IRE) in New Orleans, Feb. 1-3, 2022. 

The Roofing Alliance will host its eighth construction management student competition in-person for the first time since February 2020. Five finalist teams will compete in the final leg of the competition, which is the oral presentations scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022.  

“We are excited to be back in person for our student competition for the 2022 IRE,” said Roofing Alliance President Dave Lawlor of ROCKWOOL North America. “We are looking forward to hosting teams from across the country along with our ongoing activities with the Roofing Alliance reception and NRCA Awards Ceremony. We will also have our booth #2119 on the tradeshow floor where attendees can learn more about membership and Roofing Alliance initiatives.”

Roofing Alliance activities will include:

• Student Competition – This hallmark competition promotes careers in roofing industry management by challenging students’ roofing knowledge, construction management skills, time management, and organizational and presentation skills. The Four Points Sheraton Hotel located on Bourbon Street in New Orleans is the project for this year’s competition. Finalist teams will give 15-minute oral presentations Feb. 2 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the convention center. Attendees are invited to stop by and watch the students in action.
• Trade Show Booth – The Roofing Alliance booth #2119 is where visitors can learn more about Roofing Alliance programs, including the Most Valuable Player and Gold Circle Awards programs, Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarships, its partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® and how to become a member of the Roofing Alliance.
• NRCA Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception – This prestigious event will be live in 2022. The Most Valuable Player award winners will be recognized and the Best of the Best, Gold Circle and Student Competition winners will be announced. This is one event you do not want to miss. Join the Roofing Alliance as we formally recognize the roofing industry’s most prestigious award winners on Wednesday, Feb. 2 starting at 5 p.m.
