AGAWAM, Mass. — OMG Roofing Products has promoted Stephen Childs of Agawam, Mass., to the position of technical services manager.

In his new role, Childs will lead the team that manages all technical services for the Roofing Division, including codes and approvals, pull tests, application reviews, warranty support, and technical training. In addition, he will serve as OMG’s technical representative to various industry associations and groups.

Childs started with OMG Roofing Products in 2017 as a codes and approvals engineer. He has worked extensively with OMG’s private label customers and code and approval officials both in North America and abroad assisting with product evaluation, developing technical product specifications as well as maintaining code approvals and keeping abreast of technical changes and advancements in the commercial roofing industry. Prior to joining OMG, Childs held several positions with Brockway Smith Company in Andover, Mass.

Childs is a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), the Single-Ply Roofing Industry (SPRI), and the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC). He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Mass.
