AGAWAM, Mass. — OMG Roofing Products has introduced a new distance learning course called "Roof Drainage Design: The Case for Re-Roofing Applications." The new course is approved for continuing education credits by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC), among others.

The new course will help specifiers, commercial roof designers and installers understand drainage problems and issues commonly found on commercial roofs. The course addresses the importance of proper drain design, the basics of water flow and the impact of a vortex, drain options for both reroofing and new construction applications, as well as plumbing code changes for storm drain sizing and flow rates.

The one-hour narrated course is online and immediately available through OMG’s third party provider, Ron Blank & Associates, at this link. The course number is OMG07C, and participants can earn credit from the AIA in the Health, Safety, and Welfare category, as well as from the IIBEC and others.

In addition to the new drain course, OMG Roofing Products has another course on the Ron Blank site called "Using Electromagnet Induction Welding to Secure Roofs." Course number OMG07B provides a comprehensive review of induction-based commercial roofing applications. As with the drain course, participants can earn AIA, IIBEC and other credits for the one-hour narrated course.
