IRE 2021 Session Preview: Roadmap to Make Your Business Fully Digital

August 10, 2021

The Roofing Technology Think Tank (RT3) formed in 2017 as a group of progressive roofing professionals focused on exploring and implementing technology solutions for the roofing industry. The members strive to find innovative technology solutions to be used within the roofing industry, and provide insights from within and outside the industry to discuss practical applications.

Spearheaded by an executive board of strong leaders with vision from all facets of the industry, the group has evolved into a driving force of technology-related change at a time when roofing contractors need it most.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the group met regularly and organized site visits around the country to spots where technological innovations that could impact the industry are taking hold. While those efforts went virtual, organizers are looking forward to again meeting in person, and sharing what they’re learning during the IRE 2021.

Prior to the show, RT3 members will tour Boxabl, a Las Vegas-based housing technology startup with a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Company executives will share their vision behind their Boxabl Casita, a 375-square-foot Accessory Dwelling Unit that is delivered with a full-size bathroom, kitchen, appliances and tall ceilings with big windows for under $50,000.

IRE 2021 General Business Track

Title: End the Paper Trail: Roadmap to Make Your Business Fully Digital
Speakers: Ken Kelly, President, Kelly Roofing; Steve Little, President, KPost Roofing & Waterproofing; Wendy Marvin, CEO at Matrix Roofing & Home Solutions; and Curtis Sutton, President & CEO, Rackley Roofing Co.
Date: Wednesday, Aug. 11, 7:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
Location: Islander C

IRE attendees can hear from RT3 roofing contractor members directly about starting a digital transition within their own companies. Contractors can expect to hear an open, honest discussion on the time, costs, pitfalls and ultimate successful improvements brought by making the move to ditch paper. The panel includes RT3 contractor members Steve Little, president of KPOST Roofing and Waterproofing; Ken Kelly, president of Kelly Roofing; Curtis Sutton, CEO of Rackley Roofing; and Wendy Marvin, owner of Matrix Roofing.

They will cover the entire journey; from how to get started, cost expectations, time investment, pitfalls, challenges, and timelines for a successful process.

“The contractors on the panel are committed to helping their peers find success taking their businesses to an all-digital operation,” stated Karen Edwards, RT3 director. “They share how they got started, pitfalls to watch out for, budget and tips for team success.”

Roofing contractors can walk away with a better feel for:

  • Understanding the first steps to taking a business digital
  • The mistakes made by others to ensure a smoother process
  • Tips on how to get the rest of the team on board
  • Seeing what different solutions work for residential and commercial companies.

“We have each other to lean on and to help us navigate these uncharted waters,” Little told RC in a recent interview while discussing the state of roofing industry. “You have to get creative, and the learning never stops.”
