VIDEO: Father’s Day Tribute with Gregg Wallick
Like many roofing contractors, Gregg Wallick followed his father’s footsteps into the roofing industry and never left. After two decades of growing Best Roofing into one of the top-performing commercial roofing companies in the market, Wallick has created a family roofing legacy of his own with sons, Zack and Ian.
“One of the things that's so neat about this industry is it really is a family industry … and fathers and sons, it just kind of happens,” Wallick said.
Despite some unexpected turns, Wallick said they’ve managed to navigate business goals and family matters well, and offered this sage advice:
“You really got to just be true to yourself and true to them, because the worst thing you could ever do with a family member in the family business is put them into a position that they're maybe not capable of handling,” he explained. “You have to be a talent identifier and be able to put them into a place that they're going to be able to be successful.”
All three Wallicks will discuss their unique family dynamic on the Best of the Success stage this Sept. 20 at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
