NRCA Seeks Charitable Project Submissions for CNA/NRCA Award

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and CNA have teamed up to acknowledge roofing contractors for their efforts to better their communities.

Submissions are currently being accepted for the 2020 CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award. Roofing contractor members can submit any charitable project, activity or donation completed between Jan. 1, 2019 and Dec. 1, 2019 for consideration in the awards program. Submissions are due by Dec. 1.

The winning charities will receive:

First place — $7,500
Second place — $5,000
Third place —$2,500
People’s Choice — $1,500

Any charitable project undertaken by an NRCA contractor member is eligible. Projects, activities or donations do not need to involve roofing work; for example, funds raised for a cause or volunteer work at a children’s hospital would qualify.

The NRCA awarded the 2019 CNA/NRCA Community Involvement Award to Showalter Roofing Service Inc. in Naperville, Ill. at the International Roofing Expo in February for its charitable work in 2018.

Submissions must include an entry form, an in-depth description of the charitable work performed (minimum 100 words), a testimonial from the receiving charity explaining how the donation helped its operations, and other relevant materials like photos, videos and press clippings.

A panel of judges will select winners from the best entries. The People’s Choice award will be decided by the public via online voting. Winners will be notified by Jan. 3, 2020.
