KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Venture Construction Group of Florida has been awarded the S.T.A.R.— Spotlight Trophy for the Advancement of Roofing — award in sustainability from the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association Inc. (FRSA).
The S.T.A.R. Award is an annual awards program presented by FRSA to recognize unique and exceptional projects completed in the state of Florida.
Awards were presented at the 2018 S.T.A.R. Awards Dinner earlier this year. The event featured a presentation highlighting winning industry projects. Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) won the award in the sustainable category for a 144,069-square-foot commercial restoration project at Windjammer Condominium Association in Stuart. The project included reroofing on 10 condominium buildings, pool house and maintenance building. The buildings had suffered extreme hail, water and wind damage from a severe hail storm in April, 2015.
"With over 20 years of experience specializing in commercial restoration and construction, we deal with many elements in Florida. As always, we're committed to property owner education and providing multiple options throughout their project. We offer sustainable, durable, weather-resistant roofing solutions that withstand our intense storm seasons, while also cutting down on energy costs," says Stephen Shanton, president of Venture Construction Group of Florida.
VCGFL provided a detailed property inspection and utilized 4K/HD drone mapping to detect the wind, hail and water damage. Drone inspections provide high level assessment and scope of repairs, as well as accurate high definition photos for documentation required in insurance restoration. VCGFL utilized TPO coating to help Windjammer save on energy costs and ensure a long- life roofing system that will withstand Florida weather for years to come. TPO reflects the heat well in Florida sun. The construction team managed numerous challenges throughout the nine-month project including strict safety in a high traffic setting with minimal interruption to onsite residents, golfers and visitors.
