Atlas Roofing Acquires ACH Foam Technologies

Company Now Largest Manufacturer of Molded Polystyrene In North America

Atlas Acquires ACH Foam
August 28, 2018

ATLANTA — Atlas Roofing Corp. has acquired ACH Foam Technologies of Westminster, Colo., the companies announced Aug. 28.

ACH Foam Technologies is a leading manufacturer of molded polystyrene solutions with manufacturing facilities across North America.

“We are excited to combine the exceptional expertise, extensive manufacturing footprint and growth vision of ACH Foam Technologies with the outstanding Atlas portfolio,” said Mike Huempfner, president and CEO of ACH Foam Technologies.

Terms of the deal announced Aug. 28 were not disclosed.

In a joint press release, the companies said the addition of ACH Foam Technologies to Atlas Roofing brings decades of experience, diverse product offerings and a wide range of advanced technology to Atlas’ expanded polystyrene foam business and establishes the largest manufacturer of molded polystyrene in North America.

Further, they said the combination of the two premier molded foam manufacturers in the U.S. will accelerate growth opportunities for Atlas and ACH as well as their customers, partners and team members.

According to the companies, ACH’s complementary manufacturing and customer service reach combined with industry-leading expertise in both block and shape molded foam products provide an exceptional platform from which to expand and enhance the Atlas portfolio of products and solutions.

“ACH shares with Atlas a similar approach to growth, its commitment to innovation, product quality and customer service and, most importantly, our same dedicated focus on people,” said Ken Farrish, president of Atlas Roofing. “The time-proven experience and accomplishments of both the ACH and Atlas EPS teams make us very optimistic about the potential of this combination and what we can do for our customers and our industry.”

ACH Foam Technologies is an industry leader in molded foam solutions, providing architectural insulation, geofoam, protective packaging, cold chain packaging, and OEM components. When combining block molding and shape molding manufacturing capabilities, ACH Foam Technologies has the most extensive molded polystyrene processing capabilities in North America. ACH Foam Technologies was formed in 2005 through the combination of predecessor companies with over 50 years of expanded polystyrene foam manufacturing experience. Today, ACH services customers on a national basis from eight highly advanced manufacturing facilities.

Atlas Roofing is a leading North American manufacturer of residential and commercial building materials with four operating divisions: Atlas Shingles and Underlayments, Atlas Polyiso Roof and Wall Insulation, Atlas Web Technologies and Atlas EPS. Atlas EPS offers expanded polystyrene insulation products for use in interior and exterior construction applications, various packaging solutions, and components of manufactured systems, such as recreational vehicles, garage and pedestrian doors, and building envelope systems. Atlas Roofing was founded in 1982 and is based in Meridian, Miss. and Atlanta. It has a network of manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
