Organizers of the ninth consecutive Community Service Day at the International Roofing Expo are looking for volunteer roofing professionals with different skill sets from around the country to help roll up their sleeves and get to work on behalf of the New Orleans community on Feb. 5 — the day before the expo begins.

Skilled volunteers from all walks of construction life — including roofing contractors — are needed from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to make this event a success. Anyone with any skill level is welcome, but the work requires a lot of effort and special focus on general contractors, project managers, home inspectors, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, masons, plasterers/drywall, HVAC professionals and tile setters. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will be asked to sign a waiver of liability form.

There is a $25 fee that includes transportation, snacks and drinks.

The chief event sponsor of the IRE 2018 Community Service Day home renovation project is Sika Sarnafil, and contributing sponsors include: Carlisle SynTec; CentiMark Corp.; OMG Roofing Products; Roofing Solutions LLC; and ICP Adhesives & Sealants Inc.

Financial donations are still needed as well and can be made upon show registration. All donors will receive a tax deductible receipt for their records.
