CARLISLE, Pa.— Carlisle SynTec Systems recently partnered with Feeding Children Everywhere to provide 60,000 meals for families in need. Staff from Feeding Children Everywhere facilitated an event at Carlisle’s 2018 National Sales Meeting in Houston, Texas, during which more than 375 attendees worked together to prepare and package the meals. The donated packages went to Houston Food Bank for distribution.

“When Hurricane Harvey hit, we knew we wanted to do something at our sales meeting to try to help Houstonians whose lives were affected by the storm,” said Mike DuCharme, Carlisle’s vice president of marketing. “We split up into teams and everyone worked on an assembly line to prepare and package more than 60,000 meals in less than an hour.”

Harvey caused an estimated $200 billion of damage to the Houston area, primarily due to widespread flooding. The Texas Department of Public Safety stated that more than 185,000 homes were damaged and 9,000 destroyed.

Feeding Children Everywhere is a global organization whose goal is eradicating hunger and providing healthy meals to those in need. The domestic arm of Feeding Children Everywhere serves the 45 million Americans living below the poverty line, including millions of children, seniors, and veterans across the country.
