Make Your Connection at IRE 2017

By Kim Hamilton
IRE
February 28, 2017

Every year, the International Roofing Expo® (IRE) puts you, roofing contractors, at the center of it all — providing unparalleled access to the tools, technologies and resources you need to maximize your roofing success. It’s where new products are launched, great ideas are born and creativity and innovation unite.

The IRE brings together roofing construction and maintenance product providers with more than 9,500 roofing contractors, superintendents, foreman, architects, designers, estimators, building owners, facility managers and specifiers, as well as owners, CEOs and general managers. All in one location.

Attendees come to see the latest trends, source roofing products, meet icons of industry, network and earn CEU credits at the fully accredited conference sessions. Exhibitors come to share their latest and most innovative products and services within the roofing industry.

“The IRE show floor is jam-packed with opportunities to preview the latest technologies, uncover new products and resources, track industry issues and trends, and inspire innovative ideas to benefit your business and improve your bottom line,” said IRE Director Tracy Garcia.

Here’s a few highlights of this year’s event.

Showtime!

With more than 500 exhibiting companies, the show floor will be comprised of 1,300 booths that will be open for 16 hours of exhibit time. That will provide roofing contractors with a wide range of multi-dimensional products, services and technologies — all designed to help you stay competitive, profitable and strong.

On display will be products to help you profit in the form of: adhesives, built-up roofing, coatings, EPDM, fasteners, gutters, insulation, ladders, machinery equipment/tools, metal roofing, modified bitumen, PVC, roof/ decking materials, roof pavers, siding, shingles, skylights, slate, spray polyurethane foam, tile, TPO, vapor retarders, ventilation, walkways/ballast, waterproofing, and much more.

To build your business and keep your company thriving into the future, stop by the Product Showcase where to explore innovation as you see, try and compare a wealth of dynamic products. The unique layout offers a time-saving overview of what’s new on the show floor. Sponsored by Professional Roofing Magazine.

If metal is your specialty, don’t miss the Metal Marketplace, a designated area on the show floor dedicated to cutting-edge manufacturers supplying creative and innovative metal products, designs, building concepts, tools and services. Metal Marketplace is sponsored by Metal Roofing Magazine.

Get an up-close look at the products, equipment, materials and services from Equipter, OMG and Soprema as they present Exhibitor Product Clinics. Through these clinics that are presented daily you will have direct interaction with these exhibitors as they demonstrate the functionality and capabilities of their products.

If you want to expand technology in your business, stop by the Business & Technology Pavilion where you will find new tools and resources that will help you run your business better, faster and safer. Find solutions and stay on top of the latest industry technologies that can generate more revenue, including mobile, wireless and web-based programs for insurance, finance, credit, estimating, labor, weather, and more.

It’s New!

A new addition to the 2017 show floor, Exhibitor-Presented Seminars provide outstanding opportunities to get exciting new information and in-depth analysis presented by our exhibitor community. These 45-minute sessions will provide practical, innovative ideas and solutions to invigorate your business.

Learn how to build a more efficient and profitable business by attending The Roofing Institute, sponsored by Johns Manville. Covering topics from business strategies to trends, digital solutions and more, the curriculum includes business classes taught by industry experts, as well as Johns Manville training sessions.

Another new addition to the 2017 show floor is the GAF Education Center. This new learning area on the show floor is dedicated exclusively to roofing industry education, not product pitches. Through a series of 45-minute sessions, expert trainers will help you build skills, think critically and arm you with practical solutions to work smarter.

Learning Time

Through the robust educational conference program, attendees can choose from 122 education hours and 44 new sessions covering metal roofing, drones, safety, technology, profitability, solar, roof coatings, estimating, codes/standards, employment and leadership, as well as specialty education by NRCA, OSHA and MetroStudy.

Held Wednesday through Friday, classes are 90 minutes in length with tracks covering technical, workplace safety, leadership/management, green building, legal/HR, money matters, sales/service and general business.

To read the session descriptions, visit www.TheRoofingExpo.com to search by session title, track, date, speaker and/or keyword.

Designed to help attendees advance their businesses and careers, many sessions have been approved by Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Construction Industry Licensing Board and RCI, Inc.

Special Events

During the Keynote Address, retired Lt. Col. Rob “Waldo” Waldman will present “Never Fly Solo! The Power of Partnership.” Relating his experiences to succeeding in the roofing industry, Waldman will explain how to build a culture that embraces the core values of integrity, trust and the ability to face challenges with courage. Held Wednesday, March 1, from 9:45 am - 10:50 am, the Keynote is sponsored by Malarkey.

After a full day of networking and learning, get ready to mix and mingle with old friends at the Welcome Party on Wednesday, March 1, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Held at LIGHT Nightclub in the Mandalay Bay, you will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and soda while networking with industry leaders and innovators. Sponsored by Tremco, all guests must be 21 years of age with valid ID and IRE name badge.

Pay it forward and help those less fortunate by participating in the 8th Annual Community Service Day, the show’s home repair and revitalization project. Taking place Tuesday, February 28 from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, volunteers will help repair and rebuild the homes of Las Vegas families that are elderly, disabled or financially unable to support the renovation. This heartwarming day is sponsored by Sika Sarnafil. Breakfast is sponsored by Georgia Pacific; lunch is sponsored by OMG Roofing Products and materials are donated by ABC Supply Co. Inc.

Exciting business opportunities, products and fun await you in the back parking lot of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center for the SRS Extreme Tailgate. This is your opportunity to enjoy a beverage and cigar while meeting the entire SRS Distribution Senior Management team in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere while checking out the customized tailgating RV.

The 3rd annual National Women in Roofing [NWIR] reception will feature a hospitality reception on Tuesday, February 28, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Spend some time getting to know thought leaders, executives and industry experts receive some mentoring advice from those who design, build, operate and support the roofing industry. Thought leaders, executives and industry experts.
