It is battery powered and operates by emitting low frequency non-destructive electronic signals into the roofing system under the footprint of the scanner. It features three ranges of sensitivity for varying depth of signal penetration. According to the company, the unit is safe and easy to use with no regulatory restrictions on use and transport.
