AURORA, Ill. — An extensive program covering all aspects of the shingle-recycling industry has been developed by the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association’s (CDRA) Shingle Recycling Committee for the 6th Shingle Recycling Forum Nov. 7-8 at the Westin Downtown in Denver.

Some of the sessions on the program include How DOT Personnel Can Get Shingles Approved; Operational Factors When Using RAS; Dealing With Sham Recycling Sites; Use of Shingles in Warm Mixes; Effect of Recovered Binders From Recycled Shingles; Basics of Shingle Recycling; and Best Practices on the Use of RAS.

There also will be tours of a local shingle manufacturing facility.

More than 350 people are expected to attend the event and participate in the associated exhibition area that will feature information on equipment and supplies for the recycling of asphalt shingles.

“The Shingle Recycling Forum's growth has mirrored that of the shingle recycling industry,” said Jason Haus, CEO of Dem-Con and chair of the CDRA Shingle Recycling Committee. "Virtually anyone participating in shingle recycling will be there."

Sponsors of the event, which is organized by the CDRA, include the Federal Highway Administration; the National Asphalt Pavement Association; the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association; Asphalt Shingle Grinding Service; Heritage Environmental; and Owens Corning.
