VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — In an effort to streamline the roofing shingle selection process for homeowners, CertainTeed has produced a new “Designing with Shingles” video. The short, educational video provides an overview of designer shingles with tips and advice on matching the right shingle to complementary home styles.

“We developed ‘Designing with Shingles’ to help break down the shingle selection process and review the most commonly asked questions we hear from our customers,” said Jay Butch, director of contractor programs for CertainTeed Roofing. “The video also assists contractors with straightforward recommendations to help easily resolve any uncertainties.”

The informative video discusses each of CertainTeed’s designer shingles: Landmark™, Landmark™ TL, Highland Slate™, Independence™, Presidential Shake™, Presidential Shake™ TL, Carriage House™ and Grand Manor™. It also touches upon the many benefits of CertainTeed good, better, best shingle options. Other factors involved inmaking a roofing decision such as durability, warranty, curb appeal and home resale value are highlighted as well.

The “Designing with Shingles” video is the final segment in a three-part DVD series that includes “Hiring a Contractor,” which discusses the five questions a homeowner should ask when selecting a contractor, and “The Roof System,” which covers the entire roofing process including the tear off, deck, underlayment, flashing and ventilation.
