NRCA Releases 2013 Manuals

News
February 27, 2013
ROSEMONT, Ill.—The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has released The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2013, which updates and replaces The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2009. The updated volume discusses the design, materials and installation techniques applicable to asphalt shingle, clay and concrete tile, metal shingle, slate, and wood shake and wood shingle roof systems used in steep-slope roofing applications.

The manual is composed of five sections: Asphalt Shingle Roof Systems, Clay and Concrete Roof Systems, Metal Shingle Roof Systems, Slate Roof Systems, and Wood Shake and Wood Shingle Roof Systems. Each section includes construction details and information about roof decks, underlayments, materials design and installation.

NRCA also has made available The NRCA Roofing Manual CD—2013, which complements The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2013. The CD contains electronic copies of all four volumes of The NRCA Roofing Manual: The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2013, The NRCA Roofing Manual: Metal Panel and SPF Roof System—2012, The NRCA Roofing Manual: Membrane Roof Systems—2011, and The NRCA Roofing Manual: Architectural Metal Flashing, Condensation Control and Reroofing—2010, as well as numerous viewable construction details. Users can search the text of the manuals by keyword or phrase, print any portion of the text or graphics, and import the text into a word processing program.

The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2013 is $125 for NRCA members and $195 for nonmembers, and The NRCA Roofing Manual CD—2013 is $350 for members and $475 for nonmembers.

Also, for those interested in purchasing all four volumes of The NRCA Roofing Manual, NRCA has made available The NRCA Roofing Manual—2013 Boxed Set. The set includes all four volumes of The NRCA Roofing Manual, including The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2013, and costs less compared with purchasing all four volumes individually. The boxed set is $425 for NRCA members and $650 for nonmembers. Individual manuals are $125 for members and $195 for nonmembers.

Additionally, NRCA has released The NRCA Construction Details Manual—2013 and The NRCA Construction Details CD—2013.
