WASHINGTON
- The Extruded Polystyrene Foam Association (XPSA), representing the nation’s
principal makers of polystyrene foam insulation products and their raw material
suppliers, announced that it has elected the Kellen Company to provide
full-service association management. The members of the association
manufacture more than 95 percent of all XPS for use in the North American
market. Members include Dow Building Solutions, Owens-Corning Foam Insulation
and Pactiv Building Products.
Association president Scott Young of Dow said the
relationship with Kellen will provide significant new administrative and
educational resources as the association implements its plans for growth and
product promotion. It also will help the industry respond to industry-wide
technical and regulatory challenges.
Young is global portfolio director – energy solutions at Dow
Building Solutions. Other officers of the association include Joe Ochoa, vice president
and general manager, foam insulation, Owens-Corning Foam Insulation LLC, who
serves as vice president of the association, and Alswinn Kieboom,
general manager of Pactiv Building Products, who serves as treasurer.
The association’s goals include promoting the use and
performance benefits of XPS insulation, educating users on the proper
application of XPS products, identifying new applications and serving as the
industry’s clearinghouse for accurate and timely information.
Allen Weidman, an executive in Kellen’s Washington, DC,
office, will serve as the association’s executive director. He was for many
years a key executive with the Society of the Plastics Industry. The Kellen
Company manages nearly 100 trade associations and professional societies,
including 10 building products industry groups in the US and Europe. It has
offices in Atlanta, New
York, Tucson, Brussels
and Beijing.
